Hi, I’m Lauren Bovie, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I believe that everyone has the power to create a life that aligns with their values and well-being. My passion is helping individuals develop the tools and strategies needed to identify areas of growth and make meaningful changes that support a healthier, more fulfilling life.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and my master’s in Counseling and Development from Lamar University. Before becoming a counselor, I spent 10 years working in Special Education as both a Special Education Teacher and a Behavior Specialist.
During that time, I worked extensively with special populations, creating behavior modification plans, guiding families through the Special Education system in Texas, and helping parents establish structured, supportive home environments.
I specialize in working with individuals with autism and their families, providing resources to support executive functioning, social skills, emotional intelligence, and communication. My counseling approach is rooted in cognitive-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also incorporating behavioral training and modification techniques.
I firmly believe that all behavior communicates a need, and by understanding the underlying thoughts and emotions that drive our choices, we can make decisions that better serve us and reflect our core values.
In addition, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which I use as a powerful tool to help clients process unresolved conflicts and reframe maladaptive beliefs.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my two adorable pit bulls, exploring new restaurants with my husband, and singing with my band. I’d love the opportunity to partner with you on your journey toward growth and healing.
